Defend first, punish second

Apostate Verity combat is easier to learn if you treat defense as the default state. Do not rush every opening. Watch the enemy, survive the pattern, then punish after the recovery window is clear.

• Parry only attacks you can recognize consistently.
• Dodge purple, special, or uncertain attacks.
• Save stamina for at least one defensive action.
• Punish after the enemy finishes, never during the wind-up.

1. Block or dodge the first version of a new attack before trying to counter.

4. Punish after the enemy animation ends, not when the attack first starts.
5. If a boss has a purple or special attack, treat it as a dodge signal until proven otherwise.
