Patterns and parries

The Tree Boss is a timing check more than a damage race. Your goal is to recognize the pattern, choose the correct defense, and take only the punish windows that are already safe.

Before you start

Read Combat basics first. If your defense timing is inconsistent, the Tree Boss will feel random even when the pattern is readable.

Step-by-step checkpoints

1. Spend the first attempts identifying the boss's repeatable attacks.
2. Use parry only on attacks you can recognize early.
3. Dodge purple or special attacks until you are certain the move can be handled another way.
4. Attack once or twice after a clear recovery, then reset.
5. If you lose rhythm, stop attacking and rebuild the pattern read.

After balance tweaks

The reference site notes demo-version balance changes around recent builds. Treat any exact damage value or timing note as build-sensitive. If the creator releases a new version, confirm the current build before rewriting boss numbers.

Common mistakes and fixes

• Greedy combos: you get caught by the next swing. Take short punishes.
• Late parries: failed parries cost health and rhythm. Parry only recognized attacks.
• Dodging into the boss: you lose spacing and camera comfort. Dodge through or away based on the attack shape.

• You can identify at least three boss patterns.
